Demand
Demand: Anticipated demand for preschool services, estimated at 70% of the current 4-year-old population, using California and U.S. Census birth data.
Preschool Spaces
Preschool Spaces: Estimated number of preschool and child care spaces, based on R&R Network data.
Shortage/Surplus
Shortage/Surplus: The difference between Demand and Preschool Spaces in a given area. A negative number represents a shortage in the defined area, a positive number represents a surplus.
Service Rate
Service Rate: The percentage of children who could be served by a Preschool Space in a given area
