Tulare
Introduction
Tulare County is a county located in the Central Valley of California, south of Fresno. Sequoia National Park is located in the county. The state government’s population bureau lists a January 1, 2006 estimate of 419,909. Its county seat is Visalia. The county is named for Tulare Lake, once the largest freshwater lake west of the Great Lakes and now drained.
