Amador
Introduction
Amador County is a county located in the Sierra Nevada. The California State government’s population bureau lists a January 1, 2006 estimate of 38,941. The county seat is Jackson. Amador County bills itself as “The Heart of the Mother Lode” and lies within the Gold Country. The county is named for Jose Maria Amador.
