Tulare Strategic Plan (2006-2009)

An annual review and revision of the Commission’s strategic plan is a requirement of Proposition 10. The last review was completed in April 2005, and at that time the Commission recognized the need for a more thorough review and update.

They subsequently appointed an advisory committee of knowledgeable community members and approved a process for soliciting information to guide staff as plan revisions were prepared. The advisory committee met on October 18 and 20, 2005 to develop their input. Additionally, currently funded providers were asked for their comments at a facilitated workshop held on October 18, 2005. The Children's Health Initiative Steering Committee shared their views on October 26, 2005.

The information generated affirmed the existing direction of First 5 Tulare County to pursue strategies addressing children’s health, school readiness, parenting skills, and an integrated system of services. Current providers also expressed a desire for information about organizational capacity building and developing additional funding resources.
