The Status of Children, Their Families and Child Care Services: An Assessment of Need and Supply in Santa Cruz County, prepared by the Santa Cruz County Child Care Planning Council, details various demographic aspects of the County’s children and families and its needs for services, as well as the early care and education community and how it responds to those needs. The report fulfills the requirement set forth by the California Department of Education’s Child Development Division that the local planning council compile and assess data on child care need and supply every five years.
