The Northwest Finance Circle: Past, Present and Future, Final Report 2003

This document presents the final report of the Northwest Finance Circle, an initiative that was established to ensure that families in Seattle, King County, and Spokane, Washington have equal access to high-quality, affordable child care services that meet the needs of diverse families. Research is presented to show that high-quality early childhood education and school-age care programs have a significant impact on children’s kindergarten readiness and school success. A graphic record is included to illustrate the Finance Circle’s strategic planning retreat held in June 2001. It was updated in December 2003 to show strategies used and potential next steps. A summary of accomplishments is outlined for 2000-2003 (e.g., building public will and vision for revolutionizing financing).
