Santa Cruz Strategic Plan (2006-2009)

The First 5 Santa Cruz County Strategic Plan for 2006-2009 reflects the evolution of the Commission from a "start-up” to a fully operational organization making steady, sustainable contributions. It is a result of a four month process, building on the Long Term Financial Plan, that included community meetings and surveys, mapping of children’s vulnerability, a review of child indicators, knowledge from 4 years of evaluation data, and deliberations through 4 meetings of the Commission.

In this strategic plan update the Commission articulates a strategic framework, including logically connected Community Goals and Results in each of the three Focus Areas. Specific Results from this framework have been chosen to receive Commission investment between 2006 and 2009. These investments will occur through two funding approaches Community Grants and Commission Initiatives, and will be supported by investments in Service System Support and Integration Projects. For each of the chosen Results, the Commission has defined its strategic approach and established an annual allocation for the next 3 years.
