Sacramento Strategic Plan (2006-2010)

In May 2005, the First 5 Sacramento Commission approved a strategic planning process for FY 2007/2008 – FY 2009/2010. This was an opportunity for the Commission to review its priorities, gather community input, respond to emerging trends, examine evaluation data, and chart the Commission’s course for the next funding cycle.

This 2006 Strategic Plan Update builds on the solid foundation established by the Commission’s 2000 Strategic Plan and 2003 Strategic Plan Update, as well as its 10 Year Financial Plan. According to the financial decisions established in its long term Financial Plan, the Commission has a total of $60 million to allocate in the 2007 – 2010 period.

The Commission has developed a new Strategic Hierarchy -- a logically connected set of Priorities, Goals and Results -- to articulate its understanding of the needs of children and families in Sacramento County. A set of Indicators will be linked to the Hierarchy through the Commission’s evaluation planning in 2006.
