Quality Task Team [Knowledge Transfer, Section 7]

This packaged resource, the Knowledge Transfer guide, derives from the Master Plan for the Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP). It is intended to translate the missions and goals of the Master Plan into implementation recommendations for the initial start-up of LAUP, called Early Launch.

Quality is one of the nine sections of the LAUP Knowledge Transfer guide, authored by the Quality, Monitoring, and Compliance Task Team, which was designated to make recommendations about the quality of LAUP programs.

The goals for the Quality, Monitoring, and Compliance Task Team were to:

  1. Refine the five-star quality rating scale and ensure that it is aligned with the county’s child care rating system.
  2. Develop core quality criteria for Early Launch site selection.
  3. Develop guidelines for monitoring and compliance systems in Early Launch.
