Parent Engagement Task Team [Knowledge Transfer, Section 6]

This packaged resource, the Knowledge Transfer guide, derives from the Master Plan for the Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP). It is intended to translate the missions and goals of the Master Plan into implementation recommendations for the initial start-up of LAUP, called Early Launch.

Parent Engagement is one of the nine sections of the LAUP Knowledge Transfer guide, authored by the Parent Engagement Task Team, which was designated to make recommendations about parent engagement in LAUP.

The goals for the Parent Engagement Task Team were to:

  1. Conduct interviews and surveys in local communities for parental input on universal preschool
  2. Convene an expert panel on parent engagement with representatives from different early child care programs
  3. Develop a blueprint for parent engagement and make recommendations to LAUP
  4. Outreach to other task teams to include parents in their recommendations to LAUP
  5. Plan a symposium to introduce parents to LAUP
