Orange County early care and education salary and working conditions survey

Success By 6®, an initiative of Orange County's United Way (OCUW), has selected quality improvement of early care and education for children birth to 6 as one of its key strategies. Success By 6 is not a program but a nationwide model initiative with the purpose of promoting healthy development and school readiness among young children by making the policies and practices of a community’s major child-serving systems more responsive to the needs of young children. Based on data from the 2000 Health and Human Services in Orange County Community Assessment16, OCUW launched Success By 6 in 1999, beginning with the Child Care Strategy. This strategy seeks to raise the quality and accessibility of child care for low-income children in five targeted areas of Orange County.
