Los Angeles Next Five Strategic Plan (2004-2009)

First 5 LA developed its strategic plan with input from diverse communities obtained through a series of community meetings, public forums and commission retreats. These dialogues focused on the needs and issues affecting expectant parents, children from the prenatal stage through age five, their families and communities. In addition to public input, we also used local, state and national data to inform our planning process.

As a result of this strategic planning process, we adopted a new set of statements for our vision, values and mission that serve as the foundation for our work. Moreover, the Commission identified a set of goals and strategies that embodies our commitment to developing approaches that cut across organizational, community and population boundaries and that address the needs of children and their families.
