Family Child Care Inclusion Task Team [KTB, Section 4]

This packaged resource, the Knowledge Transfer guide, derives from the Master Plan for the Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP). It is intended to translate the missions and goals of the Master Plan into implementation recommendations for the initial start-up of LAUP, called Early Launch.

The five main goals for the Family Child Care Inclusion Task Team were to:

  1. Develop one or more pilot models for the inclusion of Family Child Care providers in Los Angeles Universal Preschool.
  2. Coordinate and integrate Family Child Care with other task teams and ensure that Family Child Care is integrated in the continuum of implementation activities for Los Angeles Universal Preschool.
  3. Research existing models (New York, Georgia and other existing programs) for best practices.
  4. Ensure a first class education for children served under Universal Preschool in a Family Child Care Home; clearly define criteria for quality care.
  5. Recommend implementation procedures for Early Launch pilot program.
