Early Intervention for School Success [California Preschool Planning Toolkit, Section 3k]

Early Intervention for School Success (EISS) is a California state legislated early intervention program, managed by the Orange County Department of Education that provides a powerful training; teaching and classroom design process targeted to help all children in grades preschool through second achieve academic and social success. Supported by scientifically based research, EISS increases teacher knowledge, the achievement of children and the involvement of parents. Currently updated EISS trainers provide a comprehensive training package to funded sites in California.

EISS helps schools build collaborative teams in support of student success. These individuals who play a critical role in the life of each child include teachers, administrators, resource personnel, parents and community members. Through training and coaching, these team members gain extensive knowledge of early childhood education, assessment tools, differentiated instruction strategies, and resources that contribute to the academic achievement of their students. Standards based instruction is aligned with Language Arts, Mathematics, English Language Development and the Developmental Guidelines for Preschool.
