General Child Care and Development program growth funds support agencies that currently hold a California Department of Education General Child Care and Development contract to increase the level of program services. General child care and development programs provide child development services for low-income children from birth through 12 years of age and older children with exceptional needs. The programs provide an educational component that is developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the chidren served. The funds will target underserved communities as defined by the Local Child Care and Development Planning Councils.
